About us
At Half Shell, our story starts with family. Jeff’s father gave him his first oyster, and Jeff gave Connor his — and soon we were ordering oysters to the house and shucking them in the backyard. They became our favorite food and sparked a lifelong love culminating in pursuing an Oyster Sommelier certification with Oyster Master Guild.
Oysters are as much mood as they are food. When Connor moved to Los Angeles for his first job and felt overworked and homesick, he started a Tuesday ritual: a walk to the farmers market for one oyster… maybe three. It never failed to turn the whole day around. That’s the feeling we’re building here — a neighborhood raw bar that makes an average day better and an average night feel special. We like to say Oysters are the Champagne of Shellfish.
Half Shell is a raw bar for premium oysters from both coasts, fresh seafood, lobster rolls, martinis, champagne, and caviar — served in a lively, warmly lit space that’s elevated but relaxed enough for a fun time with friends and family. We keep preparations simple and do the classics the right way, at a good value
